Writing Your Book, or Report for the Kindle Direct Publishing Platform from Amazon

Publishing your book, or report on the Kindle Direct Publishing platform from Amazon is a great way to increase your retirement income. It is also an easy way to start your own small business after retirement.

Recently Amazon called on all (writers, business types, and others) to create Kindle Singles using the Kindle Direct Publishing platform. A Kindle Single is an e-book which is a report, ,how to guide, experience etc. that has value added to your audience.

If you have never written a KDP document before I recommend that you write a short 10 – 15- page report which is based on information that is valuable to your audience. It can be based on your work experience, hobbies, teaching, consulting, or writing experience. Remember your marketing platform is Amazon and and your marketing channel is the world wide web.

When writing, always keep in mind that you are writing for the benefit of your audience; and they are searching for a solution, or answer to fill their need whether it’s research, learning something new, or just entertainment. Find ideas, which you have a strong interest in and can be passionate about, and also fills the need of your audience and you have a winner.

Sharing your knowledge and experience and getting paid for it is a nice way to give back while supplementing your retirement income. We all have value added information that that others will pay for and publishing that information using the Kindle Direct Publishing platform from Amazon is the way to go. Try it, write a report and publish it on the KDP platform. You never know it may be the start of a whole new profitable and fun career.

A new Retirement Business opportunity has recently surfaced on the internet. What is it? Publishing on Amazon and selling it on Kindle. Now before you folks start saying “Here is another scam” please hear me out. Book readers like Kindle have created a whole new channel and opportunity to publish your writings and it is very affordable. Amazon has setup a separate publishing and online bookstore just for you.

Picture this scenario.

You just retired and you start thinking about what you accomplished over the years. In addition you are thinking about what you are going to do with your time and how you will live in the ever changing economy.

Than one day someone comes to you with an idea on how you can share your knowledge and experience and make extra income at the same time. You decide to write about your knowledge  and begin to sell it on the internet.  It turns out that “this is the exact information” others are looking for and you begin to make money and supplement your income.

Well, that day has arrived.

You can now market and sell your key experiences and the knowledge you have acquired over the years and you can do it without the major expense and hassle of trying to get someone else to publish your information for you. No rejections based on the traditional book publisher review. Now don’t get me wrong,  Amazon does have a set of publishing policies that must be adhered to but they are not difficult to follow.

You don’t have to write a long  (150) page book either. You can write and publish reports, advice, instructions, etc. The subject matter can be based on hobbies, sports, cooking, quilting, investing, etc. It can be 10 to 100+ pages long and because you are selling it on Amazon it’s marketed 24/7.

Finally, you set your own price. Isn’t that great?
